Brackett does an amazing job of pitching a new take on the virus outbreak that will end the world. The thought of a zombie outbreak while on a cruise ship is just horrifying. The writing is fast-paced, well-researched and thrill-inducing. The characters are well developed and readers will sympathize with them as Brackett drags them through danger, horror and fear. Book is pretty good. It has a couple of twists that I didn't see coming. The whole cruise ship pandemic is a very interesting take on a virus story. All in all I would recommend to anyone that like solid virus story's.
I liked this book. It was a good read. The only thing I really didn't care for is how weak and silly the female characters are. Even when they're described as physically strong, the females are portrayed as mentally inferior. They make obvious comments, act irrationally, and die pointless deaths. Ugh.

This is an apocalyptic tale to end all apocalyptic tales. Horrifying, nerve-wracking, goose pimple inducing, hair-raising, fingernail biting, and nipple puckering (but not in a good way), you’ll want to put the book down and walk away, but you can’t. You just…can’t. Told from several POVs this tale pulls many perspectives together to form one master picture and it’s not Dogs Playing Poker. Oh, no. It’s so much worse than that. Well-written and petrifying, Jeff Brackett pulls off a horror novel to chill even the most jaded of bones. If you’re a horror fan this is one you won’t want to miss.
Good read. A nice twist on the zombie apocalypse genre!

From the start of this book, Jeff Brackett captures his audience with scenarios that keep you turning past the final page. Can't wait to read the next book of this series. I would highly recommend all of Mr. Brackett's novels.
I would not survive this apocalypse for long. When laughter is what sets off zombie-like symptoms, no way. I'm done for. To me, this is horror. Stealing away something that makes us human, twisting it into something horrific and deadly. Brackett has a great cast of characters who come together in unlikely ways. I cannot wait to read the next installment!
